How To Find A Cheap Merchant Account?
There is a huge industry out there catering to people who want to accept payments through credit cards. The thing is, going out and getting yourself a merchant account you really need to keep your wits about you because there are many companies that employ what could be described as aggressive sales tactics to get you to sign up.
Generally many companies will advertise rates, but these do not tell the whole story because the lowest rate is actually rarely the cheapest account. What they do not tell you is that there are other fees that an account must pay and they include a payment for every transaction that is processed.
Very often the rate that is advertised or that they tell you about is also a discount rate that applies for a limited period of time or only under certain conditions.
The reality is that the actual rate can vary on many things such as where the transaction takes place, and type of card and customer that places the order.
Another tactic that is used in the industry is when a company requires a client to sign up on a long term contract. High quality companies don’t require this and will be able to offer month by month contracts.
This is the reason that I strongly advise people that speak to me, to only do business with the companies that are prepared to consult with people, rather than just try to sell to them.
This method allows the merchant account providers to sit down and take you fully through how all of this works so you get a proper understanding of all the different factors affecting you and each different merchant account.
Then you are in a proper position to make a decision on a cheap merchant account and the best provider for you.
